PRIVATE WELL WATER TESTING FOR E. Coli

The procedures for private well water testing have changed.  Please use the following procedures to obtain a sampling kit to have your well water tested.

Private Well Water Testing (E. coli only)
  • Call State Lab Supply Room at 1-573-751-4830 and ask for a well water test kit.
  • Give them your name, address, & phone number.
  • The Lab will send out a well water test kit with instructions.
  • Sample may be delivered to the Clay County Public Health Center for pick up by courier (sample must reach lab within 48 hours of taking the sample).
  • Sample needs to be at the Clay County Public Health Center before 10:00 a.m. each day.
  • The State Lab will check for coliform & E. coli.
  • The State Lab will send an invoice for $10.00 with the sample results to you.
  • If other tests are desired, ask for Andrew McKinney (he may approve other tests, if necessary).
