Speech Pathologist
Clay County Public Health Center has an opening for a full-time speech-language pathologist. CCPHC serves clients of all ages with a wide variety of communication disorders and provides services to children in a parochial school setting. CFY will be considered. Excellent benefit package. Clay County Public Health Center pays employee's salaries and contract remuneration once a month. The pay period is from the first day of the month to the last. Payday for regular employees is the last working day (Monday through Friday) of the month. Contract staff are paid following the monthly board meeting. Employees generally work a forty (40) hour work week. Administrative offices are open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. Some of our services, such as Dental and Nursing, are available from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., Monday through Thursday, on an appointment basis. The Clay County Health Center provides numerous satellite clinics throughout Clay County to better serve our clients. Our goal is to reach the population that needs our service and to provide it in a cost effective timely fashion. All newly hired and promoted employees are considered in-training for the first six months of employment. This period of time allows the employee and health center an opportunity to evaluate each other and serves as a learning experience for the employee relative to the job.
Employee Benefits
Clay County Public Health Center pays or provides the following:
1. Health Insurance is provided for employees working 40 hours per week. Dependent coverage is available if the employee wishes to pay for the coverage.
2. Dental Insurance. The Health Center pays the premium for all full-time employees. Family coverage is available if the employee wishes to pay for the coverage. Routine exams and cleaning is 100% paid, other procedures may vary.
3. Life Insurance. The Health Center currently provides each employee that works more than 32 hours per week a $50,000 policy at no cost to the employee. This policy has some conversion rights.
4. Retirement. Clay County Public Health Center employees working more than 1000 hours per year are included in the pension plan. The Health Center currently contributes a percentage of your annual salary to the pension plan. Employees have vested pension rights with five (5) years of service.
5. Employees Assistance Program. This program allows employees and their family to obtain professional help for both personal and work related problems. The Health Center pays the cost for family coverage.
6. Annual Leave. Full time employees receive three (3) weeks vacation annually. Part-time staff earn vacation on a pro-rated schedule. Vacation is earned at a rate of 10 hours per month for full time staff and can be used at any time once a balance is available. This benefit is equivalent to 0.7% of your monthly salary or 5.75% of your yearly salary.
7. Sick leave. You are allowed to accumulate 15 sick days a year. The national average is about six (6) days. Employees requiring sick leave are reimbursed at their regular rate of pay on sick leave if balances exist.
8. Holidays. You are allowed twelve (12) holidays plus your birthday off. The national average is six (6) days. This is equivalent to 2.5 weeks off and has a value of 4.6% of your annual salary.
9. Administrative Leave. Clay County Public Health Center allows you to take off three (3) days at their expense when you qualify. These three (3) days are tied into the sick leave policy.
10. Other Leaves. The Health Center allows time off for jury duty and military leave. Family and Medical Leave allows for up to 60 days leave for certain family and medical reasons for employees that qualify. 11. Meetings/Conferences/Continuing Education. Employees attending approved workshops, seminars, educational conferences, and other meetings have their salaries paid, their travel paid, their meals paid, their room paid and their registration paid. The Health Center is dedicated to maintaining an educated and informed staff. 12. Mileage Reimbursement. The Health Center reimburses the employee for the business use of their vehicle. The mileage rate increases regularly to stay competitive with other businesses. 13. Malpractice Insurance. The Health Center pays for the malpractice insurance for all professions subject to malpractice. This allows the employee unquestionable insurance coverage. 14. Cafeteria Plan. The Health Center has established a cafeteria plan to provide the employee a means of paying out-of-pocket health and dental expenses in a tax effective manner. This part of your income is not subject to withholding taxes or FICA. As an employee of the Clay County Public Health Center the employer's share of social security and Medicare insurance is paid. The employee is also covered by workman's compensation insurance and unemployment insurance. Clay County Public Health Center prides itself on its vigilance for the needs of its employees.
