Immunizations

Medical professionals recommend that all children receive immunizations for protection against polio, measles, mumps, rubella (German measles), pertussis (whopping cough), diphtheria, tetanus, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)infections, varicella (chickenpox), pneumonia, Hepatitus A, and  Hepatitis B.

Immunization is the only protection children have against these childhood diseases.  These diseases have the potential for serious or fatal complications, including breathing problems, brain damage, meningitis and paralysis.  Some parents do not get their children immunized because they are not aware that these diseases still pose a serious threat to the health of their children.  As long as even a few cases of a disease occur, children and adults who are not properly immunized are at risk for catching the disease and spreading it to others.

Immunization records are free upon receiving the first immunization and the record will be updated at each visit. If the record becomes lost and a copy is requested the charge will be $3 for each additional copy of individual record. Payments may be made with cash, check, or charge.  Clients may request and additional copy by coming to Central Files, or, request records by mail by first calling Central Files at (816)595-4200.
