Rabid bat confirmed in Clay County

Rabid Bat 2

To keep your family safe, avoid wild animals and seek immediate medical attention if you come into contact with a potentially rabid animal. Also, make sure indoor and outdoor pets stay up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations.

Animals infected with rabies can take many days to show symptoms so it may not always be clear if an animal is rabid. However, animals exhibiting unusual behavior can be reported to animal control officials in your community.
