Courtney Cole began a four-year term on the Board of Health in April 2020. She is a self-employed marketing specialist and holds an associate degree from Cottey College as well as a bachelor's degree from the University of St. Mary.
Cole has lived in Clay County for 32 years and has been involved with numerous local organizations over those years. Currently, Cole and her husband Jason run an online news service called Excelsior Citizen for the citizens of Excelsior Springs. She also serves over ten local boards and committees, including the Excelsior Springs Chamber, Excelsior Springs Rotary, Good Samaritan Center, and more.
When asked about experience she's had that is relevant to being a board member, Cole said, "I was born and raised in the community with the most severe health conditions in the county, Excelsior Springs. I bring a perceptive to the board as a leader in my community and also as a mom."
When Cole is not volunteering in the community you can usually find her downtown Excelsior Springs capturing all it has to offer through photography. She loves spending time with family and eating Dari-B ice cream!
