Breastfeeding Support for WIC Clients


Are you a WIC client looking for assistance with breastfeeding? Have questions that you would love to ask a WIC staff member about?

During our regular business hours -- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. -- call 816-595-4293 to speak with a breastfeeding peer counselor.

After-Hours Support Line


We are now offering an after-hours breastfeeding support line for WIC clients who have breastfeeding questions while the health center is closed. Call 816-516-1012 and someone would be happy to take your call.

Monday-Friday: 4:30-10 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

Did you know that Clay County Public Health Center provides breast pumps for WIC participants? Call 816-595-4293 for more information.

Multi-User Electric Pumps - Available to RENT

-Must meet qualifying criteria
-$20 non-refundable fee

Manual Pumps - FREE

-Great for occasional use

Medicaid and private insurance may also provide you a breast pump. Check with your individual plan.

Breastfeeding Encouragement Group


  • 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month
  • 1-3 p.m. in Conference Room 1 at Clay County Public Health Center (800 Haines Drive, Liberty, MO)
  • For pregnant women, breastfeeding moms/babies and breastfeeding advocates, walk-ins welcome.

Breastfeeding 101 


  • Last Wednesday of every month
  • 10:30 a.m. in Conference Room 2 at Clay County Public Health Center (800 Haines Drive, Liberty, MO)
  • All prenatal and expecting moms are welcome. Bring dad or your support person too. Walk-ins welcome.
  • Expect fun and snacks and get answers to your breastfeeding questions!
