We are now offering an after-hours breastfeeding support line for WIC clients who have breastfeeding questions while the health center is closed. Please call the number above and one of our staff members will be happy to speak with you.

Breastfeeding Events


WOW! - Weigh on Wednesdays


This is a weekly opportunity to check baby's growth. Starting in January 2023, every Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m., WIC clients currently breastfeeding are welcome to pop in to the health center to get baby weighed with the help of one of our breastfeeding peer counselors. For more information, call 816-595-4293.

Breastfeeding 101 

This breastfeeding class will help pregnant WIC clients to learn the basics of what breastfeeding is, why it is so important and beneficial, how to overcome challenges in your breastfeeding journey and more. This class is offered the last Tuesday of every month at 10:15-11:45 a.m. You are welcome to bring a support person (partner, relative, etc.).

The class is held both in-person and virtually. To get the link to attend virtually, fill out the
registration form by 4 p.m. the day before the class you wish to attend. For more information, call 816-595-4293.

World Breastfeeding Week Celebration


Every year, during the first week of August, we celebrate Breastfeeding Week with a party at the health center. Check out our social media channels every July where more details are likely to be posted.

Manual Pumps - FREE

-Great for occasional use

Medicaid and private insurance may also provide you a breast pump. Check with your individual plan.
